Event Purpose
To provide parents and caregivers a trusted period of respite while children and youth—including participants with disabilities and homeschool students—enjoy safe, accessible, interest-based activities with peers.
Program Description
Sharred Love, Inc. Parents in Time Out! is an inclusive respite and peer-engagement program for children and youth ages 5–17. During a planned session, parents and caregivers may take a restorative break while participants enjoy structured recreation, creative enrichment, social-emotional learning, games, music, cooking, art, technology, movement, and other age-appropriate activities. The program welcomes children with and without disabilities, students enrolled in public or private schools, and homeschool students.
Program Goals
• Provide parents and caregivers dependable time for rest, errands, appointments, relationship time, or personal wellness.
• Create joyful opportunities for participants to build friendships and practice communication, cooperation, choice-making, and independence.
• Deliver activities using accessible materials, flexible pacing, visual supports, sensory options, and reasonable individualized accommodations.
• Maintain clear safety, supervision, emergency, and family-communication procedures.
Important Scope Note
Parents in Time Out! is a planned respite and enrichment service—not medical care, emergency shelter, therapy, or a substitute for one-to-one nursing. Enrollment is confirmed only after Sharred Love, Inc. determines that the participant’s disclosed needs can be supported safely for the scheduled session.
